What it can run.
Solo is a practical starting point for local AI. Compact models are selected for useful quality and responsiveness on this machine.
One person can use a coding agent on a repository that stays on the local network, talk with a private assistant, and search selected documents. Answers from documents point back to source passages, and the knowledge base can be updated without retraining the model.
We select the model and quantization for this hardware, and qualify new releases before they are added. The current evaluation set includes Qwen3.8-27B, Qwen3.6-35B-A3B, and Qwen3-Coder-Next.
The machine
A Mac mini, prepared as a system.
Solo is an Apple Mac mini. Its 64 GB of memory is unified: the CPU and GPU draw from the same pool. We install the models and software, validate the system, and walk through onboarding.
Apple Silicon inference uses MLX and compatible local runtimes, configured for this hardware.
