Why local
Cloud AI is rented infrastructure.
A hosted assistant stays available on a subscription, a provider's terms, and a service you do not operate. An Intelligence Box is hardware you own, with models and software installed for the work you actually do.
Privacy
Your information does not have to travel to a third-party inference service. Local inference and document retrieval can operate without sending prompts or files to an external model provider. Alfred Remembers stores the knowledge you add on the workstation.
Control
You choose the models and the integrations. We make network connections explicit during setup. Web research, cloud email, CRM connections, software updates, and optional hosted models use the network only when you enable them.
Predictable economics
There is no per-token charge for the models running on your box. The hardware is a purchase. It can replace the workloads your local models and tools handle well. It will not automatically replace every hosted subscription. Savings depend on actual usage, hardware cost, electricity, and support.
Customization
The system is configured around your workflows: coding, documents, writing, research, and operations. Team systems add user access, request routing, workload queues, and monitoring. We demonstrate a representative workflow before you commit to a configuration.
Availability
Once the selected models and local software are installed, the box can work offline. Local capability is not dependent on a remote service remaining available. Workflows that need live information or a cloud application still need a network.
